Building a Stronger Preparedness Network
he Manatee Coalition for Health & Medical Preparedness, known as Manatee CHAMP, is an association of community healthcare organizations with disaster planning and operational responsibilities or capabilities. Manatee CHAMP is dedicated to creating and promoting a state of readiness while actively supporting recovery efforts to protect the health of Manatee County residents during catastrophic events, large scale disasters, and emergencies.
The coalition accomplishes this mission by coordinating education, assessment, planning, and support services involving public health providers, private medical providers, public safety agencies, and government officials.
Our Mission
Preparing Manatee County to Respond
The mission of the Manatee County Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Coalition is to enhance collaborative response efforts to disasters and emergencies by mobilizing local assets to meet community, county, and regional needs.
Through collaboration across the healthcare and emergency preparedness community, Manatee CHAMP works to strengthen local readiness, improve coordination, and support the health and safety of Manatee County residents.

Manatee CHAMP focuses on the partnerships, capabilities, and resources needed to prepare for emergencies, strengthen coordinated response, and support recovery across Manatee County.
Preparedness Planning
Supporting assessment, planning, and coordination efforts that help local healthcare and community partners prepare for catastrophic events, large scale disasters, and emergencies.
Community Coordination
Connecting public health providers, private medical providers, public safety agencies, and government officials to strengthen collaboration and coordinate local preparedness efforts.
Education & Training
Coordinating education and preparedness opportunities that strengthen knowledge, capabilities, and readiness among Manatee County partners.
Response & Recovery
Mobilizing local assets and supporting collaborative response and recovery efforts to meet community, county, and regional needs during emergencies and disasters.
Training Supports Stronger Response
Preparedness is not a one time event. Ongoing education, collaboration, and practice help healthcare organizations respond faster, recover more effectively, and better protect their communities during emergencies.

Stronger Together Across Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition brings healthcare and emergency preparedness partners together across nine counties. Through collaboration, planning, training, and shared resources, the coalition works to strengthen preparedness and response throughout the region.
