SUMMARY:Monoclonal Antibody Treatments in Long Term Care – Effectiveness & Options for Making These Therapeutics Available to Your Residents
DESCRIPTION:Register Here\nFlorida Health Care Association invites skilled nursing and assisted living facility providers to participate in a webinar with Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Simone Marstiller and her leadership team and Florida Division of Emergency Management Chief Medical Officer Ken Scheppke\, MD\, FAEMS; along with a representative from the long term care sector for an informational webinar about the use of monoclonal antibody treatments and its effectiveness against COVID-19\, including the Delta variant. Learn more about the state’s plan to support long term care facilities with administering this treatment to residents and the benefits of these therapeutics for all individuals who contract the virus. Attendees will also hear perspectives from a Nursing Home Administrator whose care center is using this treatment to help residents and staff safely recover from COVID-19. \nMonoclonal antibody treatments can be prescribed by health care providers to individuals 12 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are at high risk for severe illness and hospitalization. The antibodies help the immune system recognize and respond effectively to the virus. For more information\, visit the FHCA COVID-19 web page.

SUMMARY:Reframing Resilience for Long Term Care Facilities
DESCRIPTION:Reframing Resilience for Long Term Care Facilities \nRegister Here \nHealthcare preparedness leaders have the majority of their time and resources occupied by planning and response initiatives for the acute care sector. Winter Storm Uri\, COVID\, and the substantial threat of ransomware attacks continue to show us a significant and potentially widening gap in resilience and integration within the emergency preparedness community of Long Term Care facilities. \nJoin us for a presentation in which long-term care experts discuss the impact that recent challenges have on the LTC community and explore strategies for improved resilience and care for our most vulnerable populations. \nBy the end of this presentation\, attendees will be able to: \n\nDescribe the quantifiable gaps in communication and knowledge of healthcare preparedness partners.\nAnticipate the needs (vulnerabilities) and indirect impact of natural disasters on LTC patients.\nPrescribe strategies that your agency can take to bolster LTC preparedness in your jurisdiction.
