DESCRIPTION:Target Audience/Disciplines\nEmergency Management\, Emergency Medical Services\, Healthcare and Public Health. \nOverview\nFramework for Healthcare Emergency Management (FRAME) is a four-day course designed for personnel who are responsible for the development\, implementation\, maintenance\, and administration of emergency management programs and plans for healthcare facilities and/or systems (e.g.\, hospitals\, clinics\, or community health centers). DESCRIPTION:Target Audience/Disciplines\nHospital staff members who comprise a Hospital Emergency Response Team\, such as physicians\, nurses\, administrators\, security personnel\, environmental staff\, and other hospital staff. \nOverview\nThe Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) course addresses healthcare response at the operations level for the facility and its personnel. This three-day course prepares healthcare responders to utilize the Hospital Incident Command System — integrating into the community emergency response network while operating an Emergency Treatment Area as hospital first responders during a mass casualty incident involving patient contamination. The importance of planning and training for a CBRNE incident response is stressed to participants\, thus the course incorporates preparedness planning considerations and incident management concepts to train participants to serve as members of an incident management team. Participants are immersed in a curriculum that will promote development of their abilities to evaluate the threat\, identify and prioritize probable targets\, measure required capabilities\, and discuss the Incident Response Plan (IRP) and Incident Action Plan (IAP) processes. DESCRIPTION:Target Audience/Disciplines\nHealthcare Leaders\, Public Health Leaders\, Emergency Medical Leaders\, and Emergency Management and Public Officials serving in a leadership role for an existing or developing healthcare coalition. \nOverview\nThe Healthcare Coalition Response Leadership Course (HCRL) is based on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthcare System and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Public Health Preparedness Capabilities\, as well as best-practice procedures for healthcare-coalition building\, preparedness\, response\, and recovery. The three-day course provides instruction and facilitated discussion in best practices and lessons learned in establishing an effective healthcare-coalition framework and conducting healthcare-coalition planning\, as well as and achieving preparedness. The course provides instruction on the development of indicators\, triggers\, and tactics for proactive coalition planning; and approaches techniques\, and instruction on the considerations for healthcare coalition response and recovery leadership. The course also provides extensive practical experience in healthcare coalition leadership team response through a series of progressive exercises designed to emulate realistic community and regional public health and medical emergencies. \nBelow are some\, but not all\, of the critical skill sets learned during this training program: \n\nDiscuss the best practice methods and means for establishing a healthcare coalition framework.\nDiscuss the best practice methods and means for preparing to respond as a healthcare coalition.\nDevelop indicators\, triggers\, and tactics for a proactive healthcare response.\nManage a response to a public health and/or medical emergency as a leadership team member for a healthcare coalition.\n\nPrerequisites and Requirements\nTo be eligible for the course\, the student must successfully complete the following course: \n\nAWR-160\, WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders.\nTo be eligible for this course\, the student must serve in a leadership role for an existing or developing healthcare coalition.\n\nExceptions to the above prerequisites may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the CDP Registrar. \nContinuing Education Credits\nThe Center for Domestic Preparedness is authorized by IACET to offer 2.4 continuing education units for this program.

DESCRIPTION:Overview\nOn day one\, certification candidates will be provided with a preparatory course for the Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) credentialing examination. The first day includes a presentation designed to highlight emergency management areas outside the average attendees’ day-to-day\, work-related duties and responsibilities. Candidates will also have the opportunity to interact with the facilitator and other attendees to answer questions that may relate to the certification examination. Candidates will be provided with a free electronic copy of the CHEP Study Guide and sample exam questions prior to arrival. On day two\, candidates will have the opportunity to take the certification exam.\n\n\nRegistration Fees\n\n\nFHA Members: $245\nNon-members: $345\n\nPLEASE NOTE: In addition to the registration fee that is paid to FHA\, \nall candidates must  submit an application to IBFCSM and  pay the\nApplication Fee ($130) and Exam Fee ($200) directly to the Board. \n\nThose participating in this training need to complete the Reference Evaluation Form.This should be done no later than 2 weeks prior to the CHEP Training.
