SUMMARY:Instructor Training Course
DESCRIPTION:Target Audience/Disciplines\nEmergency Management\, Emergency Medical Services\, Fire Service\, Governmental Administrative\, Hazardous Materials\, Healthcare\, Law Enforcement\, Public Health\, Public Safety Communications\, and Public Works. \nOverview\nInstructor Training Course (ITC) is a five-day course that prepares emergency responders to deliver lectures and hands-on training in their local jurisdictions. The course is conducted in two phases: fundamental principles and applied principles. During the fundamental principles phase participants receive an overview of adult learning\, task analysis\, risk and hazard analysis\, learning objectives and lesson plans\, communication skills\, instructional delivery and multimedia\, testing and evaluations\, and after action reviews. Then\, during the applied principles phase\, participants put these lessons into practice through a series of practice training sessions. \nNOTE: This course does not qualify the individual as an instructor or trainer in any specific FEMA course. \nBelow are some\, but not all\, of the critical skill sets learned during this training program: \n\nDemonstrate various teaching and delivery strategies and identify learning resources as applied to a chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear or explosive (CBRNE) training environment.\nDiscuss effective communication techniques for an adult-learning audience.\nDemonstrate the ability to manage the learning environment effectively\, considering the needs of a diverse audience.\nDevelop and deliver a 15-minute oral presentation to an adult audience.\nDevelop\, deliver\, and evaluate a 20-minute oral presentation to an adult audience.\n\nPrerequisites and Requirements\nTo be eligible for the course\, the student must successfully complete the following course: \n\nAWR-160\, WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders.\n\nThis course is designed for emergency responders who have not attended a qualified instructor training course and who will provide chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear\, and explosive CBRNE training in their jurisdictions. DESCRIPTION:This four-hour awareness-level course provides emergency managers\, first responders\, and community members from all sectors with a basic understanding of the latest knowledge in hurricane science\, forecasting\, warning\, and preparedness. DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) credential was established to focus on the importance of using management principles to improve the safety performance of healthcare organizations. The scope of the CHSP Exam attracts applicants from various health care backgrounds including\, but not limited to\, safety\, security\, infection prevention\, employee health\, nursing\, quality improvement\, administration\, risk management\, facility management\, plant operations\, hazardous materials management\, emergency management\, life safety\, biomedical services\, environmental services\, laboratory operations\, nursing homes\, surgery centers\, insurance loss control and safety consulting. Earning the CHSP credential provides recognition and documents achievement. The CHSP designation is one of more than 30 acceptable academic/professional designations for applicants to hold when seeking the Distinguished Fellow – DFASHRM or Fellow – FASHRM recognition of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).\n\n\n  \nRegistration Fees \n\nFHA Members: $245\nNon-members: $345\n\n  \nPLEASE NOTE: In addition to the registration fee that is paid to FHA\, \nall candidates must  submit an application to IBFCSM and  pay the\nApplication Fee ($130) and Exam Fee ($200) directly to the Board. \n\nThose participating in this training need to complete the Reference Evaluation Form.This should be done no later than 2 weeks prior to the CHSP Training.
