DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe overall goal of this course is to develop state and regional IMTs to function under the National Incident Management System (NIMS) during a large and/or complex incident or a major event. This course is designed for those who are assigned to function in a Type 3 IMT during a large/complex incident\, typically extending into the second operational period. The Type 3 IMT can either support an existing ICS structure\, or can assume command of an incident if requested to do so. The Type 3 IMT can ease the transition to a Type 2 or Type 1 IMT for incidents of national significance.\n\n\nPreRequisite\nIS-100: Introduction to ICS for Operations First Responders; IS-200: Basic NIMS/ICS for Operational First Responders; ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents for Operational First Responders; ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff\, Complex Incidents\, and MACS; IS-700: NIMS\, An Introduction;IS-800: National Response Plan\, An Introduction or IS-800b: National Response Framework\, An Introduction\n\n\nTarget Audience\nThis course is designed as a series of simulation exercises and instruction for incident management team members\nThe simulations are designed to test the students in their functional knowledge as well as their ability to function as a team\nInstruction is provided to enhance their abilities to interact\, communicate\, make decisions\, improve risk management and reduce errors\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\nParking is located in front parking lot of building. DESCRIPTION:Florida Week 2019 Syllabus:  Florida Week 2019 at CDP\nMarch 31 – April 6\, 2019 \nThe Florida Department of Health\, Bureau of Preparedness and Response is pleased to announce confirmation of the second Florida Week at the Center for Domestic Preparedness. \nIn partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)\, this dedicated week offers an invaluable opportunity to public health\, health care coalition and emergency response partners of Florida at the CDP’s state-of-the-art national training facility. Up to 140 students may attend identified courses during this week-long training and culminating “capstone” exercise in a no-fault environment\, gaining skill in public health emergency response and sharing experiences and knowledge. The CDP is the only training hospital in the U.S. dedicated solely to preparing health care\, public health and emergency response professionals for mass-casualty incidents related to terrorism or natural disasters. \nFlorida Week 2019 will host three courses for participants to choose from. The deadline to apply is January 31\, 2019.\nTarget audience Hospital executives and administration; Mid-level management; Patient service groups; Emergency Department staff; Physical Plant Operations Group; Security / Law \nEnforcement; Emergency Medical Services; Public Health Group and Ancillary health care provider groups \nPrerequisites and Requirements To be eligible for the course\, the student must successfully complete the following FEMA online courses: \n\nAWR-160\, WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders\nIS-100.c\, Introduction to Incident Command System for Healthcare/Hospitals\nIS-200.HCa\, Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations\nIS-700.a\, National Incident Management System\, an Introduction\nIS-800.B\, National Response Framework\, an Introduction\nRecommended completion of ICS-300\, Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents\n\nApplication and attendance at Florida Week 2019 is at no cost whatsoever to approved local\, state\, private or volunteer response team members\, or to their agencies/organizations.
