The Tampa Bay Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition (TBHMPC) developed this tabletop exercise toolkit to help healthcare partners evaluate their procedures for identifying and responding to a suspected measles patient. The exercise provides a structured discussion scenario that allows organizations to examine how they would recognize symptoms, implement airborne isolation precautions, coordinate diagnostic testing, manage staff exposures, and communicate with public health authorities.
Designed as a 60–90 minute facilitated discussion, this exercise can be conducted by hospitals, clinics, urgent care centers, dialysis facilities, and long-term care providers. The toolkit includes a facilitator guide, discussion modules, operational worksheets, and an After Action Report / Improvement Plan template to help organizations capture lessons learned and identify improvement actions.
