The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) invites you to register for this two-hour, instructor led webinar to enhance awareness of and preparedness for potential threats posed by active shooters.

A Training Opportunity:

Preparing for an active shooter event is an integral part of incident response planning. Because these events are unpredictable and evolve quickly, knowing what to do in an active shooter situation can mean the difference between life and death. Every second counts.

CISA aims to enhance active shooter preparedness by empowering critical infrastructure owners and operators in pursuing a “whole community” approach by providing no-cost resources, tools, and training. This two-hour webinar provides information and best practices that supports and enhances emergency action planning capabilities applicable broadly across sectors and provides considerations to mitigate the impacts of an active shooter incident.

Objectives:

• Discuss elements of active shooter incident response planning with guidance from expert instructors.
• Describe common behaviors, conditions, and situations associated with active shooter events.
• Discuss how to recognize potential workplace violence indicators.
• Provide information about best practices, communication protocols, and resources to help develop or enhance emergency planning, preparedness, and response to active shooter incidents.

Registration is free and participation is based on a first come, first served basis with a limit of 400 participants.

Registration will close as soon as the event reaches capacity or no later than August 7, 2023, at noon (12:00 p.m.) EDT.
